COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

Greetings of Peace!

The College of Education has been in operation since 2007 with the ultimate aim of producing effective and productive future teachers. Our faculty is best at enhancing the abilities and unfolding the potentials of our students to become capable of meeting the challenges of the teaching profession.

Now on its bid for Level 2 accreditation, we are taking significant steps to offer the best quality of education possible across all the programs we are offering. Indeed, our first batch of graduates hurdled highly satisfactory LET ratings in September 2010 with 100% passing among BSED graduates, and we are proudly continuing this tradition of excellence.

HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The College of Education was established in 2007 to accommodate the rising demand for quality teachers within the region and beyond. It started with a handful of scholars under the Emeterio Calayan, Jr. Scholarship, in memory of CEFI’s founder, and the Karunungan Scholarship that helped underprivileged but deserving students. Its initial offering included Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education along the following majors: English, Math, Biological Science, and MAPEH.

Through the years, it has cultivated a culture of excellence manifested through its performance in the Licensure Examination for Teachers that consistently exceeds the national passing percentage. All its achievements warranted the granting of Level I accreditation by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) in 2015.

To date, both programs are undergoing rigorous preparation for a higher accreditation bid. Another indication of its commitment to relevant education is the opening of the Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education this school year.
