CEFI ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

 CEFI Alumni Association shall form the organization of alumni groups coming from different colleges of the institution, the Calayan Educational Foundation, Inc. This association is formally being launched today, July 3, 2018, in this website, primarily for the purpose branding and giving the group of graduates an official name, and secondly, to gather members to join the association and enlarge its membership and to strengthen the ties between alumni, the community, and the association.

THE ALUMNI LOGO

 

The alumni logo shall be the official logo of CEFI Alumni Association. It could lend itself to several applications, from stationary to CEFI T-shirts, customized gifts and souvenir items.  Its use will contribute to the pride felt by the school’s graduates, employees, and parents, and will advance the school’s identity and image. The acronym CEFI as education’s institutional logo, can find its fire burning with the desire to seek knowledge, provide services and scholarship to deserving students and its community. The human figure signifies open arms which embrace the vision-mission of the institution, that moulds him/her to become productive alumnus, laden with the school’s core values; honour, scholarship and service. The colour green identifies one as a true Cefizen in mind and spirit.

    • BENEFITS of being a member of the association
      1. ALUMNI ID (which also serves as a personalized ATM debit card)
      2. Free utilization of CEFI facilities, (i.e.), the gym, library, function halls/rooms.
      3. Seminars or continuing professional education for career advancement.
      4. May join the institution’s Foundation anniversary activities, particularly the sports events.
      5. Procedural assistance to CEFI as venue for reunion or get-together of batch mates.
  2. RECOGNITION and AWARDING OF ALUMNI
    • An alumnus or alumni who is making a name in his/her own career or any field not related to his/her profession, can be a candidate/s for recognition during the school’s foundation anniversary at the awards night, sometime February. This activity is a yearly and prestigious event at CEFI where an alumnus is given a plaque (sometimes cash gift) of recognition for his/her exemplary contribution of talent and expertise in his/her own field anywhere in the world. Just submit a resume, pictures of activities where you think your talent is recognized, and certificates as evidences for awarding. An alumnus can vouch for his/her work as awardable or he/she can be nominated by another alumnus or group of alumni. Your complete documents shall be reviewed by CEFI Alumni Association and be approved by the EXECOM. In addition, anyone can also be a candidate for awarding, provided he/she provide sponsorship or donations to the school or to its adopted community which contributed or made a significant change in the life of the community residents, or an evidence of lifelong commitment to the institution.   3. REQUIREMENTS for ALUMNI RELATIONS ACTIVITIES

      1. Letter of the plan/activity proposal addressed to the consultant for External Affairs (ALUMNI)/
      2. A copy of Invitation/ Program
      3. Request letter for venue (if CEFI shall be used)
      4. Pictures of the events (one per event; i.e.; motorcade, mass, program proper, etc.)
      5. Organization of officers (organizational chart)/ picture of oath taking activities
      6. A copy of the list of registration of participants/ alumni with address and contact numbers (day of event)
  4. ALUMNI GIVE BACK PROGRAM
    • We believe that interested and engaged alumni are vital members of the CEFI community. When they were still in the college/school, they were friendly, generous, loyal, and most of all, talented and the pride of their batch. It is because CEFI produce graduates who were nurtured with these attributes to become successful in their chosen path, hence, they want to show appreciation for the education and development the school provided them. One of the best indicator of love and loyalty to one’s alma mater is the extent to which one is willing to support the school financially or otherwise. So my dear alumni, it’s time to show your gratefulness to your school, “CEFI Give Back Program” is the means to extend your appreciation. So stay connected, give back! Your “gift” or “donation” will go a long way; the beneficiaries are the school’s adopted community of Mayao Crossing, Purok Langka 1 & 2 which need your support for community activities through the Institution’s project HELPS; Health, Literacy, Environment, Production Skills (LIVELIHOOD) and Safety and Security programs.

HISTORY

 CEFI Alumni Association (CAA) is being established as a mother association of all alumni groups from different colleges/ departments. Although CEFI has graduated batches of alumni since the year 1975, the graduates were already having their own small meetings just to have a get-together of their batches, however, there was no known official organization formally established or named as Alumni Association, rather, the graduates formed their own small groups, by section or by course, and hold their reunion. It was only a few years back that the Nursing graduates formed a Nursing Alumni Association initiated by Batch 1993 and 1990 graduates who also had its own reunion during that time they had the event. There has also been a time when the institution attempted to gather all batches of CEFI alumni, however, it was represented by small attendees per batch only, but not all batches were represented, however, they called themselves the alumni group but with no formal election of officers occurred.
