BRING A FRIEND: GUIDELINES for BASIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

  1. Friend or recruit should be an incoming college student / Senior High School (SHS) / Junior High School (JHS), or a transferee of any year /grade level (not a CEFI graduate). Relatives or siblings will be accepted as recruits as well as transferees in the second semester.
  2. Only continuing Grades 11/12 SHS students and continuing Grades 7-10 JHS students are eligible to recruit. It’s a one-time discount on the semester the recruit was enrolled.
  3. The recruit may enroll in a program different from the recruiter’s. They can enroll in any program they want. The amount of discount would depend on the recruit’s program, not the recruiter’s.
  4. Maximum of two recruits per student. The limit is to prevent exaggerated efforts to recruit.
  5. Recruit must be enrolled, has completed the semester and paid the corresponding TOSF in full. Only after full payment has been made will the discount be adjusted on the recruiter’s account.
  6. Student must accompany the recruited friend during the admission process. The principal / BED coordinator will issue an adjustment slip for the recruiter’s discount. Depending on the recruits’ enrolled programs, a recruiter may have two adjustment slips if he has two recruits enrolling in different programs.
  7. The recruiter-student must present said slip to the BED Admissions Officer for encoding on the List of Issued Adjustment Slips for Bring a friend

  8. The adjustment slip must also be presented to the Accounting Office when he /she pays his last installment payment. Essentially, the discount would be applied or adjusted at the end of the semester after ensuring the recruit/s have already paid their TOSF in full.
  9. During admission, the respective principal/ BED Admissions Coordinator may conduct a short interview with the recruit on what kind of information has been provided to him by the recruiter. This will ensure that minimum efforts have been made by the recruiter. Such information should at least include:

    – A short introduction of the program the recruit was interested in
    – A short introduction of the dean and/or program head
    – Admission process and requirements
    – What they might expect in terms of class schedules and student activities
-Tour of the school, familiarization with the buildings and where the recruit’s classes might be held

  10. The BED Admissions Coordinator will maintain a register or list of issued adjustment slips. Information to be kept: Name of recruiter, Name/s of recruited friend/s and the program they are enrolled in.
