The CEFI Basic Education Department’s Officer-in-Charge, Mr. Harold R. Pintano completed an international short course offered by the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) in partnership with Marshall Cavendish Education (MCE) developed by Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

The course is called Designing Effective Online Lessons which is self-paced and asynchronous in the e-learning portal of MCE. Pintano began his course in November 2022 and finished it after a month. He then received his certificate of completion on January 31, 2023.

Subject matter experts from the National Institute of Education (NIE) and the Teaching and Learning Pedagogy Division (TLPD) of the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) have collaboratively developed this course to help educators gain insights into the principles of online teaching and learning.

This course basically empowers teachers to plan and design powerful online learning courses by leveraging key instructional and learning design principles.

Meanwhile, after completing the training requirements and attending the orientation, Pintano was deployed as a PEAC SHS certifier in Region 3, March 6-10. Together with other certifiers, he will verify three (3) SHS private institutions in the provinces of Aurora and Nueva Ecija.

Through this assessment, the school will be assisted to determine its strength and potential to become a more effective educational institution.
